Architecture and Site Specific Art are a collaborative process whereby the overlying objective is to contribute positively to place (context/ environment). Throughout the process, Redshift seeks to realise the contrasting interplay and opportunities presented by place and programme; the public with the private, the programmatic with the
poetic, as well as the temporal patterns of light, time and use.
This attitude is the key to a rich and successful outcome, engaging with all aspects of the project; its setting, history, environment and context; and including the collaborative inputs offered by client and consultants. Through this, we hope to heighten the
experience of place, achieved by the possibilities of a simple action, or transformation through more substantial interventions.
In our work consideration of the environment is not separated from consideration of Place, Programme and the like. Redshift does not regard “Environmental Design” as a
distinct design discipline, but rather an integral design consideration towards greater environmental accountability.
