This site specific work continues the conceptual exploration of the “Sculpture by the Sea” locale undertaken in three prior works. In this piece the perception of the site and its scale is manipulated through light, with the work examining the boundary, or Event Horizon, of the coast line.
The illusiveness of the instant flashes of light generates a shifted perspective of the scale and understanding of the site, with the intent to provoke the viewer to question what they are seeing.
An ephemeral and intangible work, to highlight the locale it conceived the use of a syncopated flashes of light upon the cliff face, sometimes consecutive, sometimes coinciding, or seemingly independent.
