Designed for a proposed development in Rosebery, Shadow Field is yet to be realised. Commissioned by the developer as part of the conditions of consent for the development, the work was designed for a building that was at DA stage. It was therefore conceived largely in response to the drawings of the building design and the immediate locale.
Conceptually Shadow Field has been conceived of as a solar activated wall drawing. It generates a complexity born out of the apparently simple movement of the sun, and its interaction with the work's individual elements, which are repeated with a subtle shift in inflection.
A feature of Rosebery is the rich play of the light and shadow - a solar kinesthetic. Shadow Field has been designed as a textured and structured patination applied to a wall at an urban scale.
